Data Distribution and Use Policies

The ALRIS program supplies digital spatial data to its client base, public agencies in Arizona, at little or no cost. Costs are assessed for media and any custom processing. Data format translations are generally not considered custom processing. Other entities may also request data. For these entities certain charges may apply. Customer classes with data distribution cost assessment are as follows:

Public agencies (state, federal, local, tribal) in Arizona - media cost, custom processing costs if necessary.

Private individuals and non-profit organizations - media cost, direct labor and system costs, custom processing costs if necessary. Direct labor and system costs are generally around $50 per transfer.

For profit businesses - media cost, direct labor, system cost, and data cost as assesed by ALRIS as well as custom processing costs if necessary. Data and labor costs can be waived for profit businesses requesting data for the single purpose of performing contracted services for an Arizona public agency.

Data requested through the ALRIS program shall not be redistributed without the consent of the ALRIS Program Manager.

Since some of the data is contributed to the ALRIS spatial data library by other agencies we may have little knowledge of the data quality and accuracy. Verification of the quality of and use of any data supplied by ALRIS for use for any particular purpose is the responsibility of the requestor.

If you are interested in any of the ALRIS data or would like additional information on the ALRIS program, please write, call or email us at amaslowicz@land.az.gov.
