Title & Contracts Section (T&C)
The Title & Contracts Section (T&C) is accountable for accurate current and historical land title records reflecting acquisition, surface use, and disposition of the State’s 9.3 million acres of Trust land.
Land Title and Ownership
Land title and ownership are major functions within the Title & Contracts Section (T&C). T&C ensures the integrity of the State’s land title and ownership on 9.3 million acres of surface land. T&C performs extensive research of Title records on the following types of acquisitions and disposals: Purchases, Quiet Title Actions, Federal Condemnations, Reconveyances, Resurveys, Civil Actions and Court Settlements. T&C researches and prepares title reports on title history & current land records for the Attorney General's Office, outside clients, and departmental staff.
Land Records
The Title & Contracts Section (T&C) is responsible for adjusting both Title & Current land parcels by adding, deleting and/or amending acreage and legal descriptions making every effort to ensure the land is entered accurately and that each section is in balance. An extraordinary amount of time is spent on in-depth research to ensure departmental records are accurate and that data submitted for input is correct.
Contract Management
The Title & Contracts Section (T&C) coordinates, develops, revises and prepares leases, permits, rights of way and other contracts associated with the surface use of the state's 9.3 million acres of Trust land and ensures all documents issued are in compliance with laws, rules and guidelines of the Department.
Applications
