Agricultural Leasing Program
Lease Administration
Administration of leases and permits for Agricultural uses that are issued by the Land Department for State Trust lands.
Apiary Permit Administration
Administers Apiary (bee) permits.
Cultural Resources Management Program
Clearance Coordination
Coordinates interagency review of proposed revenue producing Trust land use to ensure compliance with the State Historic Preservation Act.
Dust Abatement & Management Program
Dam Safety Program
Dam Safety Program ObjectivesThe Dam Safety Program’s main objective is development and maintenance of an emergency protocol system that will facilitate the Department’s goal to reduce State liabilities associated with potential dam failures.
Environmental Contamination Prevention and Remediation Program
Environmental Contamination Prevention and Remediation
Investigates hazardous or regulated substance contamination of State Trust land. Provides technical assistance to other areas of the Agency and oversight of remediation projects.
Environmental Resources & Trespass Program
Trespass Investigation
Investigates and resolves unauthorized and illegal use of State Trust land, and manages the Land Maintenance Fund for cleanup and protection projects.

The State Land Department encourages the responsible development of mineral resources and manages statewide leasing programs. Similar to the classification of minerals on federal land, lease administration on state land recognizes the following three classifications:
Natural Resource Conservation District Program
Natural Resource Conservation Districts (NRCDs)
NRCDs are political sub-divisions of the Arizona State Land Department. Some NRCDs in Arizona are organized under tribal law. Governed by locally elected officials, Districts evaluate the conservation needs of their respective areas.
NRCD Education Centers
Many districts have established education centers to promote a balanced appreciation and awareness of Arizona’s environment.

Water Rights and Agriculture staff provide recommendations and support to State Trust Land lessees and Department staff in order to ensure wise use of water resources on Trust lands while acting in the best interest of the Trust.
